My First 48 Hours on Summer Vacation - Brady

Here is what I've done:

Tuesday:

4:00 p.m.: Leave school.

5:30 - 9 p.m.: Dinner and drinks with friends at Columbia Street West.

10:00 p.m.: Bed (Still on teacher-time at this point).

Wednesday:

6:00 a.m.: Hear Kevin's alarm ring. Roll over. Eventually get up and make him breakfast before a small claims trial he had to do (doesn't that sound lawyerly?).

7:00 - 9:00 a.m.: Watch DVR recording of "Life After People" with breakfast and hot tea.

9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.: Fold a bunch of laundry while watching more TV/cleaning up house/EMPTYING SCHOOL BAG (that was liberating and just a little sad).

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: More work around the house. Nothing outside because it was raining.

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Nap (Yes, a 3-hour nap).

4:00 p.m.: Kevin comes home. Go for a run.

5:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m.: Shower and get ready for Tincaps!

7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.: Go to Fort Wayne Tincaps minor league baseball game with Kevin's legal society. We got to sit in the fancy suite and eat really good food.

11:00 p.m.: Bed

Thursday:

6:00 -7:00 a.m.: Wake up and go for a run.

7:00 - 9:30 a.m.: Joke's on me. I forgot to turn in something to my department chair and had to go into school for about half an hour to finish that up.

10:00 - 12:30 a.m.: Errands and mow yard (an epic task at our house- takes about 1.5 hours, and we have a push mower).

1:00 -2:15 p.m.: Thank-you lunch with my department chair and his family at Toscani Pizzeria in downtown Fort Wayne.

2:45 - 3:30 p.m.: Practice golf at the driving range near our house.

3:30 p.m.: RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM AMY ABOUT NEXT YEAR THAT MAY FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE THIS BLOG (Amy, that is a message for you to UPDATE THE PEOPLE.)

4:00 p.m.: Update my blog. :)

So, a baseball game, golf, lawn-mowing, pizza, two jogs, lots of TV, and lots of sleep. Sounds like summer.

  1. Okay, I'm actually feeling like a little bit of a jerk for writing this. It's kind of like "Hey everybody - hope you're all enjoying WORK. Guess what I've been doing?" :)

  2. Hahaha- yes, I was a little resentful until I realized I would be doing the EXACT same thing... 4 more school days :)
