The Wild Kingdom AKA Our House - Brady

Cut my normal hour of yard work short today. Why? Pretty sure I both tore out poison oak and disturbed a brown recluse spider hiding in the ivy I was ripping off our house.

Which are worse - gross city things (cockroaches, grime, etc.) or gross country things (poison plants and spiders)? I'm voting country things - at least cockroaches can't do THIS to you. (No, you know what? I was going to link the word "THIS" to a picture of a brown recluse spider bite, but it's too gross. You can look it up yourself if you're really curious.)

Mos def going to buy myself some new, non-holey gardening gloves today. These just aren't cutting it anymore in the wild kingdom.

  1. You are still indomitable, Brady. I much prefer the company of garden buggers to bathroom cockroaches. Still, I'm glad you escaped from that recluse with your life. I will not be Googling a recluse bite.

  2. Really? Even though a cockroach can't hurt you? I mean, just because they're ugly...

That spider was scary! And then I freaked myself out more by looking up what it can do to you. We are definitely always wearing long pants, long sleeves, and gloves when we're working outside.

  3. Hey I have a question for you guys, maybe you can help! :)

At the end of September, I am heading to LP for a wedding (Amanda Dudeck and Josh Gray). Randi Price and I both fly in on Thursday (to Chicago), and plan to spend Thursday evening in Chicago and then head to LP on Friday.

We are looking for a hotel for that one night in Chicago, we'll want to go somewhere fun to eat, maybe go have a few drinks or do something afterward, and then we'll need to be able to pick up a rental car on Friday morning to head back to LP.

Do you guys have any suggestions on hotels based on price, location, and/or just generally good neighborhoods to look at in order to allow us to do all of this with relative ease?

    Thanks for any help/advice! :)

My email addres (if that's easier) is carrienwhitman@hotmail.com

    THANK YOU! :)
