So I'm hoping you all can help me. Below is a picture of our bathroom now.

See the gold-ish paint on the walls? That's what I want to re-do. And maybe get a cool shower curtain (oh my goodness, I can't believe I just wrote "cool shower curtain") or something. We've also talked about adding knobs to the cabinets or even getting a new light fixture (which you can't see here) or mirror.
What color would you paint it? I think I want it to be lighter than what's in there now... maybe something more neutral...even kind of beachy. I don't know. Any thoughts? Kelly? Want to come over and be my personal interior designer? Amy? You have a cute bathroom. Ideas? Anyone?
First of all, do you have red chairs? Yes, I see your posts on Pinterest. I'm intrigued by red chairs. Secondly, I have a beachy bathroom and a woodsy bathroom. I'm thinking of changing my beachy bathroom a bit and toning down the "aqua" color that is in there to a nice pond green...if you know what I mean. Not so blue and bright as I have now. Anywho, the woodsy bathroom is sort of a greyish sage and I must say is a lovely color. Looks great with tans, like your tile and countertop. You might think about taking down the one big mirror, unless you really like it, and putting up two..even though you only have one sink...your one big mirror kind of "dates" the bathroom. Sorry. The other option would be to frame the big mirror out. Chunky wood. I do like the kind of asian inspired shower curtains you have been pinning as well... pretty!
ReplyDeleteOooooo, thanks Cindi! Yes, we have red chairs in our living room and I'm looking for cushions to put on them (obviously...:) that ties in with everything else in our living room. I love them - they were just about the first things we bought when we moved into our house in Fort Wayne. You can see them in some of the shots in this photo album (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.622069320955.2196108.2417328&type=3&l=50d6d66856) - but it's obviously at our old house - not our current apt.
DeleteThanks so much for the suggestions! And no offense taken about the mirror - I don't like it either. It was there when we moved in, but I'm kind of intimidated about taking it down and doing something else. I'll think about it, though. :)
A dark brown might look really pretty on the walls... it would go very well with the tile but would stick out a little more than the tan does now. I'm sure it will look fantastic no matter what you do!
